I wouldn’t call it [comic being responded to] a political statement. For someone that abandoned ignorance, there’s really no room to discuss homosexuality vs homophobia.
Homosexuality needs positive light as a protection source, mainly because of lack of knowledge from people bashing it.
Also anybody with a minuscule brain knows there’s nothing wrong with it.
On the other hand, homophobia has absolutely nothing positive, and should be, hundred percent of the time, ‘cast in a negative light’.
And that wouldn’t really be a “true” political statement, it’s simply a fact that needs to be understood.
(I know perfectly that a political statement involves opinions, but I personally can’t take it as such when one side is clearly wrong.)
